Partnership Plus – Year 3 and 4 Sports Hall Athletics Competition

Well done to the 100 children who took part in the SSP+ Sports Hall Athletics Competition held at Campion School this week.

During the competition the children had the opportunity to race against each other in relays and obstacle courses, they tried speed bounce and Javelin to name just a few of the events.

The schools competing included Shrubland Street Primary, St Patrick’s, who fielded two teams and All Saint’s Junior School.

In a closely fought competition the final positions were:

All Saint’s Junior School 1st
Shrubland Street 2nd
St Patrick’s 3rd
St Patrick’s 4th

The main aim of the afternoon though was to have fun and the cheering could be heard for miles! The day was made possible by some fantastic young leaders from Campion School.

Ali Knight, Partnership Development Manager for the Sports Partnership who organised the competition said,

‘It was great to see so many young people active and having fun. The enthusiasm from all the children was great to see and the leaders from Campion School were extremely supportive and helpful, great role models.’

In the lead up to 2012 there are a huge number of competitive opportunities for schools. To ensure your school doesn’t miss out please visit www.cwschoolsport.org.uk for more information.
