Key Stage Two Teachers PE Conference and Heads of PE Conference
Last week saw schools from Leamington, Kenilworth and Warwick come together to gain new ideas within PE and Sport and to share good practice.
Primary and Infant school teachers had the opportunity to take part in the Key Stage one Conference taking part in a golf session run by Jason Sorrell from the Golf Foundation, a mini Basketball session delivered by Martin Spenser, Mini Basketball England Education Officer and a great High 5 Netball session delivered by Kim Jones, the Sports Coordinator from Campion School. The staff also took part in theory sessions including curriculum mapping, assessment in PE and the Busy Feet initiative. 
The day was organised by the Central, Eastern and Northern Sports Partnerships and was designed to supported primary school teachers to develop their knowledge within PE and Sport. The day had a mainly
practical theme and although worn out at the end of the day thefeedback from staff was extremely positive.
Heads of PE also had the opportunity to attend the annual Heads of PE Conference to develop their knowledge and share good practice. Their day included sessions on ICT in PE, Leadership in PE and how to develop sporting competitions in schools. They also had the chance to try out Handball, Lacrosse and Angling to see if these were sports they wanted to introduce within their own schools.
